The project

Bluegrass Water Treatments is a family-owned, veteran-operated water treatment company based in Perryville, Kentucky. BBB accredited, they serve residential and commercial customers across Central Kentucky with water softeners, reverse osmosis systems, whole-home filtration, salt delivery, and free water testing. They needed a website that showcased their products, ranked in local search across their entire service area, and made it easy for customers to schedule a free water test.

What we built

  • Custom Next.js website with a detailed product catalog covering 13+ water treatment products
  • 16 individual city landing pages for local SEO across Central Kentucky
  • Free water testing scheduling through the contact system
  • FAQ page answering common questions about water softeners, RO, salt delivery, and service
  • Gallery page with photos of recent installations
  • Educational articles section on hard water problems and solutions

How we approached it

A water treatment company wins customers one town at a time, so the site is built around its service area. We created 16 individual city landing pages across Central Kentucky, giving local customers and local search a page of their own for each one.

The rest of the site answers the questions a homeowner has before calling: a catalog of 13+ products including water softeners, reverse osmosis, and whole-home filtration, an FAQ on softeners, RO, salt delivery, and service, educational articles on hard water, and a gallery of installations. The free water test is the main next step, and the contact system is set up to schedule it.

Selling to a service area

The site covers sixteen Central Kentucky cities: Frankfort, Georgetown, Winchester, Nicholasville, Lexington, Danville, Lancaster, Harrodsburg, Richmond, London, Somerset, Stanford, Springfield, Irvine, Berea, and Liberty. Each city has its own page with its own address, such as /frankfort-ky-water-treatment, so a homeowner searching for water treatment in their town can land on a page about their town.

A service areas page and a footer list link all sixteen pages together, and the home page shows an Areas We Serve block with a tile for each city.

Products and salt delivery

The products section lists more than a dozen items, from whole-home softeners and filter housings to reverse osmosis systems, RO faucets, replacement filters, and a bottle-less water dispenser, each with its own page. Salt gets a prominent place too, since the company delivers water softener salt to residential customers throughout Kentucky, with commercial delivery available nationwide and bulk semi-truck loads for the largest orders.

Two product tiles at the top of the home page, one residential and one commercial, send salt customers straight to the right product.

Education that earns attention

The articles section explains the problem before it sells the solution. Seven articles cover the effects of hard water on shower doors, dishes, water heaters, skin, hair, and shower pressure, and the home page presents each one as a card under an Effects of Hard Water heading.

Written for homeowners who are searching for answers, these pages give the company a way to be found before a customer knows which product they need.

Making it easy to act

The main action is a free in-home water test, offered across the site through the contact system. A Financing Available banner links to a financing application, a Make a Payment link takes existing customers to payment, and a phone number sits in the header.

Trust markers support the offer: family-owned and veteran-operated badges, BBB accreditation, installation by certified plumbers, and a link to the company's Google reviews. A banner announces the new office location in Harrodsburg so customers know where to find the company.

Built to the same standards as every project

Every Ctrl Shift Run website is custom built from the ground up in Next.js and TypeScript, with no templates or page builders. Each build targets green PageSpeed Insights scores on mobile and desktop, plus 3/3 on the agentic browsing check, and is structured so search engines and AI assistants can read it. The code lives in the client's GitHub repository and the domain stays in their name.
